  • As an employer, offer a space for moms to express their breast milk  when they return to work. 
  • Modify vending contracts in your workplace or school to increase healthy choices, and use competitive pricing—price nutritious foods at a lower price than non-nutritious.
  • When taking a birthday treat in to work or school, bring a healthier option like yogurt and granola rather than baked goods.  Or, provide both options so people can choose which one they’d like.
  • Place a bike rack in front of your business.
  • Participate in wellness programming at your worksite, or talk to your manager about starting a program. 
  • Encourage your children and the children in your neighborhood to walk and bike to school
  • Visit your local farmers’ market to check out local, fresh produce.
  • Be an advocate.  Talk with your neighbors, your child’s teacher, your doctor, your family, and your state and local policy makers about why obesity prevention is important.
