Marathon County is celebrating Bike and Walk Week 2012 with events throughout May and early June.  Check out the schedule of events.

Bicycling in WI
Bicycles are considered “vehicles” on Wisconsin roadways.  That means bicyclists must obey the rules of the road like any other vehicle and must be treated as equal users by all other vehicles.  Visit the WI Department of Transportation’s website to learn more about the rules of the road.

Bike/Pedestrian Plan & the Wausau Area Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Bike/Ped Commitee
 The Wausau Area Metropolitan Planning Organization has prepared a long range comprehensive bicycle and pedestrian transportation plan for the Wausau Metropolitan Area.  Download a copy of the Wausau MPO Bicylce and Pedestrian Plan (pdf).  More information regarding the Bike/Ped Committee can be found at the County of Marathon website.
