February 8, 2011 – The Marathon County AOD Partnership Council received national recognition for efforts to reduce substance abuse at the National Leadership Forum held February 7-10th. One hundred and thirty four community coalitions graduated from the 2010 National Coalition Academy, and the AOD Partnership Council was one of 6 nominated for the Chairman Award, recognizing those who demonstrate and apply core competencies and essential processes to effectively problem solve and work within their community to create change.
January 27, 2011 – The Marathon County AOD Partnership Council member recognition event. The Blizzard of Change highlighted 2010 accomplishments and presented Spotlight Awards to community members working to reduce substance abuse in Marathon County. 2010 Spotlight recipients were Sue Nowak, Lisa Rasmussen, Alice Covey, Chris Wilke, Linda Larson Schlitz, Zoe Nylund, Eileen Eckardt, Wally Sparks, Jeff Hardel, Open Door Committee, and the Responsible Beverage Server Task Force.
October 25, 2010 – The Marathon County AOD Partnership Council hosted a Senate and Assembly candidate forum in partnership with the Central Wisconsin Tobacco –Free Coalition and the Prevent Suicide Task Force.
September and October 2010 – Community conversations on “Responsible Use of Alcohol” were hosted by the Wisconsin Institute for Public Policy and Service, and held in Athens, Rothschild, and Mosinee.
